SV Judge Recommendation?

Hi all,

My schH club is looking for recommendations for SV Judges for an IPO trial. Our club has mostly GSDs...hence the SV request. We've found that the clubs in our region keep bringing in the same judges over and over, and we would like to perhaps broaden our base, rather than bring in a Judge we have already had. Please let me know if you have an SV Judge you particularly loved trialing under (and why...)!

I liked a lot of them. I thought Gunther Lanfer was very good. My club kept him over for a club trial the week he judged the HOT Nationals in Akron a few years ago. I thought he was a tough judge, but very good. He was fair, but did not like hearing any excuses. If you use him, make SURE everybody is there on time. A friend of mine drove a couple hours to our club to go for a BH, and he BARELY made it in time, and Herr Lanfer was not going to wait for any late comers.

Thanks Skip! Does he have somewhat conversational English? One of our club members speaks fluent German, so we can translate critiques etc., but its more enjoyable for the rest of our club members if we can speak to him in English outside of the trial.

Yes..he spoke good English.

Hans Schultz is a good judge and speaks English very well. Peter Dittmeir is great also but not sure if he's still coming over or not. Günther Müllegger is pretty good but his English is so so.

Skip - it looks like Gunther Lanfer already has three UScA trials lined up back to back in the US next summer...isn't there a limit to how many trials an SV judge can do in the US every year?

Would highly recommend Rinus Bastianson from Belgium- SV Judge

When we had USA club Tri-County Schutzhund Verein he judged our last trial. Very good english, low maintenance, easy going, fair judge and an very good helper for seminars too. He books up fast though. I know the Canadian Niagara Schutzhund Club uses him.
