PLEASE don't say it's an ARC blacklist !! It's the "Rottweilers R Docked" blacklist !! And yes, they have one.

I just count how many days she tells me to count, and start doing temperature monitoring about a week before that. :D

I just get nervous the week before the due date. The anticipation is a killer, but once whelping starts I'm fine. Even after 20+ years.

even with frozen the bitch is due 63 days post ovulation. Semen being fresh or frozen has no bearing on due date because fresh or frozen, natural, AI or surgical implant all eggs are fertilized the same day Sorry, I meant surgical implant . I've done 3 surgical implants with frozen, and 1 with fres...

The other thing that I will ALWAYS DO is progesterone testing for ovulation timing. When you know the ovulation date, there is NO GUESSWORK on the due date. It is an absolute 63 days from ovulation always. This way if the bitch goes over, you know it.

Unless you're using frozen semen.

No, I never did a necropsy, as my repro vet told me he thought that my bitch did not push enough, or have hard enough contractions, and called it something, but I forget off hand what he called it, and that the puppies then drowned in the birthing canal. It sounds like she had Uterine Inertia. This...

I have stated numerous times that if (when) docking is outlawed I will move to a breed for which breed type is not defined by a docked silhouette. And that statement is truly a sad statement. Because you've basically said that you 'love' (and I use the term loosely) the Rottweiler ONLY because it h...

This is the funniest thing to me. AKC/ARC standard allows 2 missing teeth. No, the Rottweiler standard allows for ONE missing tooth. Two or more are a DQ. But I'd take a dog with a missing tooth, that had proper structure, over a dog with all his teeth, who had straight shoulders, or was over-angul...

when I see a well known 'breeder/judge' (who's name appears on that list I mentioned earlier) import a dog (not a puppy), cut off his tail, and show and breed it. THAT is about as hypocritical as it gets, IMHO. Tailed dogs aren't worthy of being shown in the same ring with your dogs, but if you cut...

I don't use all that fancy verbage with my dogs. I use the same commands I would use training obedience/rally. Teaching them new words for the same command is a waste. (JMO). Because when you're actually out there doing the carting test, those fancy words aren't going to come naturally. You'll be so...

Not sure I will, but that certainly leads one to believe that when the fight gets dirty, AKC will not fight for the right to dock or crop. But of course, only time will tell. Think about it, AKC is just a dog registration. They, as an organization, don't care if dogs are cropped or docked. AKC woul...

I have no doubts that it will change at some point but the AKC will be hard pressed to make that decision as long as docking remains legal, not to mention it's the parent breed clubs that put forth the standard changes. The AKC does not arbitrarily change them on their own. AKC can NOT change any b...

I have less than no respect for people who ignore the breed standard to further their own person agendas. Period. Then you must not have respect for very many Rottweiler judges out there, as they intentionally ignore the breed standard every time they put up a dog with a pink mouth, doggy bitches, ...

Just a question:

If they ever pass a law where US Veterinarians can't dock tails (like was just posted about Canada), will you all learn to do it yourselves? Or will you leave tails on?
